The image you see on the right is my PC. Over the years it's been Ship of Thesus'd from a crappy office desktop to a fresh, shiny, powerful gaming battlestation.

It started as some Dell office PC from my dad's warehouse, and it sat quietly the den of my parent's house back in High School. Before then there was the many family laptops- I would hide them in my bedroom and play ROBLOX or flash games until late in the night. I don't remember any of the components of this first first PC, but I knew it was so outdated that it could only even run Team Fortress 2 in the form a powerpoint presentation. Occasionally I would play games like Left 4 Dead 2 with some friends, but the real gaming was done on a console. Eventually I got my first GPU: An EVGA GeForce GTX 960! It didn't do a whole lot, but every little bit helps!
My first big PC upgrade came not out of desire, but of circumstance- I was enrolled in my local college's sound recording/technology program and I had to be able to run a funny little program called Pro Tools.
Ever heard of Pro Tools? Appearently it's the industry standard. Nonetheless, I HAD to go to the store and buy some new parts. Sure, I could just get a MacBook like a normal, sane person would, but why do that when I could build a PC instead!
I made a lot of mistakes when I first built this guy.
Years later, after completely moving out of my parent's house, I received a couple more upgrades to my GPU and CPU- An RX 5700XT and a Ryzen 7 3700X. They lasted me a few good years while I gamed it up, but eventually came the BIG PC build.
Winter 2024/2025- Some of my friends were looking to upgrade to put themselves up to date. Myself, with the desire to upgrade, joined in. This came with a shopping list of new parts.
It took the whole day, $1,100, plus an additional trip to the store because the motherboard was suspiciously opened, but the current iteration of my PC was finally built. And it's very nice! It can play all the games and make all the videos I want with little to no issue.
